Online Marketplaces are on the rise and they will keep rising to cover up to 40% of online retail, according to the E-commerce Foundation. There are many global examples everybody knows: huge players like Amazon, Ebay and Alibaba or specialized newcomers like AirBnB and Uber. In addition to being platform leaders of their market areas, they show how convenient and useful online marketplaces can be. Marketplaces are loved for the greater selection due to the wider array of providers, the higher availability and the often more competitive prices of the products and services offered.
